Great, thanks, Ray. Have posted in our forum and linked to you/your website.

We formed the Association of Independent Authors earlier this year in response to a need to bring together those independent authors who see themselves as professional writers/businesspeople ie authorpreneurs. We have a code of conduct, which primarily involves how we conduct ourselves in all our business dealings. Our members appreciate that being an independent authors is not about throwing a book together and having it listed in an online bookstore, cross fingers and hope for the best.

One of our roles is to share information and resources so that limited budgets are not wasted on initiatives that do not work, and our 'profession' will advance its standing if those who follow in our footsteps don't make the same mistakes. We'll all be better and stronger for it.

Many of our members were also published traditionally and have made the switch. We're devoted and committed to self-publishing because we believe in it.

We're gearing up for our inaugural conference to be held in San Francisco in July 2012 - it's early days, but we want to be sure we have the best possible program of speakers. A Call for Submissions has just gone out - see http://www.independent-authors.org/?page=Conference

Thanks for your interest, Ray, and thanks again for allowing us to post your article in our forums. We'd like to offer you and your readers a first-year complimentary membership of the AiA. Register using the Promo Code: COMP.

Kind regards
Mel
